Compare Products is WordPress plugin developed for GeekWithLaptop website. First version was made to manage laptop computers and to compare them, but over the past several months plugin has grown considerably, and now supports different product types and much more.
This plugins support different product types. For each product type you can define number of data fields for images, lists and text. Plugin uses T2 Templates System I developed for GD Star Rating to control all the rendering. Plugin also adds rewriting to create customized URL’s for comparation pages and adds several widgets. One of the latest additions to the plugin is integration with the Amazon, and search options to find and link products from Amazon as a part of product rendering.
Right now GeekWithLaptop uses plugin for 5 different product types, and they manage hundreds or even thousands of products. Go the the website and see compare in action.

This plugin is made for GeekWithLaptop website, and it’s owned by them, so I can’t sell it or redistribute it. I plan to make another plugin, that will be similar to this one, that will use custom post types, custom taxonomies and some other new WP features, but I have no time table for that one, it will be sometime in 2011.

I am having a megento based website with a pre loaded compare function, but I am really fedup with their SEO functions, never go for magento, the most pathetic CMS for SEO.
I am planing to switch to some other CMS but didn’t found any with the same functions.
